Description
Gahwa is an integral aspect to Arab and Emirati hospitality, as it has always been, and remains, a central part of Arab culture and has over the years become a symbolic act of generosity, with its preparation and serving marked by elaborate traditions and rituals. Reflecting the cultural importance of this beverage, all of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman and Qatar had Arabic coffee inscribed in 2015 on the UNESCO ‘Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’.
I am more of tea guy but the amount detail for an Arabic coffee ceremony preparation and its heritage is amazing hence I captured various stages in a beautiful series like this photo which was taken in Dec 2019.
