Description
The world’s largest uninterrupted sand mass, the Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter) will blow you away with massive expanses of awesome desert and enormous dunes. It’s a landscape of ever-changing endless dunes made famous by the British explorer Wilfred Thesiger and his Emirati and Omani companions in the 1940s and 50s.
This photo which was taken in Nov 2007 is very special to my heart. It does not only reflect my own footprints in the sand but also resembles my history and my way which I have gone in the almost two decades that I had been working in the Middle East. Furthermore the Anantara Hotel Group used it as their brand image for their very unique Qasr Al Sarab Desert Hotel.
