Project notes
Flying a drone bring different challenges and excitement along the way. But never underestimate the responsibility a commercial drone pilot has.
Rogue drones had been shutting down airports around the world. Therefore authorities enforced stricter rules and regulations to control drone operations.
However I do not see the problem with commercial pilots therefore who pay significant amounts of money for their license, insurance and have to apply for special permits every time they want to fly for business. One mistake could inure a huge fine and could put them potentially out of business.
In my opinion it is a awareness problem mixed between companies who want to hire a pilot and they do not understand the financial commit which is required and therefore go for the cheap offered version of pilots who are equally not aware that they were not allowed to fly commercially in the first place without valid license, without insurance and much worse without official permit in place resulting in breaking the law.
The location of the dry berths are exactly inside the landing corridor of Abu Dhabi International Airport which is a clear No-Fly Zone for drones. Only commercial operators can get special permits to fly here below a 30m height limit.
So make sure that when You hire next time a drone pilot for your project, event etc. that the person is commercially licensed to do so and has an insurance and all the required permits in place therefore. (;-)
