Loving what’s to come
introduction
Dubai International Boat Show is the premier and most established boat show in the UAE, GCC and Middle East. Whether you want to buy a boat, discover luxury yachts and superyachts, explore the latest diving and aquatic innovations or ride the sparkling waves, it’s the definitive event for luxury and lifestyle. Co-located with Dive MENA Expo, the only dedicated show for the UAE and GCC diving community.
With 25 years of maritime history, the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is established as the MENA region’s number one marine luxury, leisure and lifestyle industry event.
DIBS is the premium event to gain exclusive market exposure to the largest and most influential gathering in the MENA marine industry.
The Show sectors allowed more than 30,000 visitors from over 120 countries to experience elite superyachts, leisure crafts, marine pastimes and exotic supercars, as well as luxury & equipment supplies and services.
The Dubai International Boat Show is a spectacular event. The view from the harbor is incredible, and the buildings lining the skyline are seemingly endless. With an abundance of exquisite restaurants, delightful shopping facilities and, of course, some of the world’s most impressive boats on show, Dubai is a city that promises you will never get bored. With so much variety to choose from, make sure you take a look at our Fair Promotion leisure guide and fully enjoy your experience at the show.
It displays not only boats, but a variety of companies working in the diving or automotive industry. Even though our loyalties lie with the boats, the extra industries allow a real variable element of the show that attracts a wide range of people. We love being surrounded by the huge boats that never fail to make an appearance in Dubai. And better yet, a lot of brands that we love represent themselves in the huge air-conditioned tents. Bliss!
Scope of Work
DIBS is usually a 5x day long shoot with 1x day drone coverage during the busy weekend days.
Project notes
I am not gonna lie – DIBS is one of my favorite show on the yearly calendar. My team and I had been working with them for quite some years now. During that time we witnessed multiple site changes from Dubai Marina to Dubai Canal and back to Dubai Habour = 2020 edition which got sadly postponed towards the end of the year due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Every location has its very own specific challenges of access to elevation and getting around smoothly with the ultimate hero shot in mind placing Dubai’s skyline in a perfect frame.
It is one thing organizing an outdoor event with many purpose built elements but the weather is sometimes unpredictable and out of expectations. In 2018 exactly on the busiest day = Friday when we planned our drone aerials we experienced a massive sandstorm which lasted the whole day. No point in flying.
Our only chance was in hoping for better conditions on the next day. And splendid it was! – check out my video above.
